I bought this product to transfer my vhs tapes to dvd discs and my cam corder Hi 8 tapes to dvd disc and it does the job brilliantly,Haven't used the freeview on it has I have freesat installed at home but I'm confident in saying that it is probably as good as the recording functions on it.

The instruction booklet almost made me return it unused as it tried to 'blind me with science' but, using the enclosed LEAFLET and the names on the buttons I realised it is easy to set up and use for everything I require, i.e. watching and recording live Freeview T.V., and transferring valued V.H.S. tapes to D.V.D. before they degrade.
