Unlike expensive-to-run halogen spot lights that get hot when used and cast a narrow beam of light, or less effective LEDs that can cause potentially damaging ‘spotting’ in the eyes, the Lifemax lamps use the very latest energy-saving fluorescent tube technology to provide a light that not only stays cooler when used, but also costs very little to run and significantly brightens the target area (light emitted equates to daylight at noon).

A really fantastic product
Consider this is the table/bedside reading lamp I have come across. It is extremely well built. My one and only gripe is the position of the on/off switch, which is situated next to the underneath of the actual bulb holder. I consider that a much better position would have been on the base unit area. The present position can be quite hard to find in the darkness of the bedroom to switch it on. Also the on/off switch is quite small & once again this could be difficult for particlarly elderly folk to find & operate. For a really fantastic product I feel that these couple of switch issues let this product down otherwise I would have no problem giving this product 5*. I think that elderly folk or people with difficulties using their hands should bear the switch issues in mind when considering this product, but for reading in bed, which I do, it is excellent, very bright and positionable virtual daylight. Customer service wise I think mysmartbuy are outstanding.

I love the light given out by this lamp, although my husband says it is too bright for him. I haven't been using it long enough to comment on durability or value for money. It is quite expensive to buy the bulbs, but if they last a long time and give this quality of light then they probably are good value. One slightly annoying thing is the neck on which the head and bulb hang. They are heavy, and the neck can sag a bit in use. I feel that some extra support could help with this problem.

Does exactly what it says on the tin. My wife wanted it to provide extra light on her side of the bed to enable her to see to do the things that women do! I thought it would be a cheap alternative to an additional fitted ceiling light and would replace her small / dingy bedside lamp. Not so; your lamp is far too bright for her. It's great when she wants a bright light, perhaps once a week but it is overkill for the rest of the time. We have no other use or location for the lamp as we are pensioners in a small two bedroom bungalow. I therefore ask if you might consider a refund for us if I return the lamp?
